The requirements of this project specified that the device needed a multiple use format. Its purpose was to operate as four different analog devices depending upon its state. These included a Digital Potentiometer, an Inverting Op-Amp, a Non-inverting Op-Amp, and a 4-bit DAC. The difficulty implementing such a design is the merger between analog and digital environments causes a large number of switches to maintain. I created this design with the intention of going to fabrication.
While this project presented many difficulties in the design, the biggest difficulty was communicating with my partner. The partner I had during this project was a very busy athlete and scheduling conflicts caused much of the communication to be over the phone and via e-mail. To learn how to complete a design this size with a project partner in a different city has taught me more about the importance of communication.
